The lack of direct observation during operation is one of the most challenging aspects of pumps.  Many times a pump will fail to perform or suffer a mechanical problem.  Often the root cause of this failure is vague or masked by another symptom.  The “trial and error" approach to a solution is often no longer acceptable in today's world.

At PII, we have the experience to uncover many problems that may go undiagnosed for a long period of time. The intimate pump knowledge we possess gives us a competitive edge when investigating a pump. And we take this approach on ever project. Every time we receive a pump we ask questions about the performance and history. Many times there are clues hidden in the anecdotal evidence that can easily be overlooked. If required a full metallurgical analysis will be performed to make sure the existing parts where made from the right material and to the correct heat treatment. All this data will go toward an explanation that allows us to make the right decision the first time around.
